The nationwide Oplan Tokhang(knock and plead) has been implemented to encouraged drug users and pushers to surrender. These past few weeks thousands of suspects have already surrendered in the authorities.
According to ABS-CBN report, one village in Cagayan de Oro refused the campaign against illegal drugs.
Jaime Frias II, chief of Barangay 23 said it violates the human rights.
"Sa Oplan Tokhang, it consists only a violation of the right to privacy. It promotes self incrimination," he said.
He additionally cleared up that he is not against President Rodrigo Duterte's battle against unlawful medications and culpability, which the organization focuses to stifle in three to six months.
Oplan Tokhang explained by chief PNP dela Rosa that they will only plead to the involved in the drugs to surrender but if they don't listen, that's the time they will apply the full force of the law.
Jaime Frias said as he opposed to thumping on suspects' entryways and driving them to surrender, police should to specifically capture known drug identities.
"This needs a big force for them nga. No need for tokhang. Direct na, diretsahan na talaga sa pwersa," Frias said.
