OPM Rock legend Pepe Smith dies, 71

OPM rock legend Jose William Feliciano “Pepe” Smith passed away on Monday. He was 71.




The news of Smith’s passing was confirmed by his daughter Daisy Smith-Owen on Facebook.
“Thank you for everything papa bear ko. Thank you for being the best dad in the world,” she said.
“I know you’re in the best place now, no more pains papa.. I will see you in a few days. I love you to the moon and back.”
On September 17, Smith underwent a gallbladder surgery at the Philippine General Hospital in Manila.
Several years ago, Smith also suffered a stroke that left him with speech impairment.
In 1970, Smith joined the rock band Juan dela Cruz Band as a vocalist and drummer along with guitarist and vocalist Wally Gonzales and bassist and vocalist Mike Hanopol.
